Texas trio Dale Gas Tx is releasing their first single," Austin Ain't So Far." Laced with Spanish-style guitar picking, a' la Willie Nelson, performed over an ambient sheet of lap steel, this classic country get-a-long pulls you in and takes you away. With featured performances by legendary lap steel player Dale Brousard and guitarist/frontman CW Fields.
At the foundation of this radio-friendly ditty, an intrinsic moderate percussive groove with a modern, booming bottom-end hits you right in the chest, delivered by drummer Zia Basith and fiddler/bassist Bruce Tousinau. Carried by this hypnotic assembly of sound is a perfectly woven vocal melody that has a conversational lyric, an ode to lost love, with the main character's willingness to walk to Austin to obtain it. Dale Gas Tx knows how to "let the song do the talking, and it will indeed talk playlist curators and program directors into adding this gem.

  Dale Gas Tx is a new country trio from Houston, Tx creating their approach to Texas country. With thousands of hours of perfecting their craft under their belt, they are more than capable of great things. 

With an unlikely pairing of eclectic backgrounds, starting with CW Fields at the helm, on vocals and guitar. As the primary songwriter, this former rocker hip-hop producer was the beatsmith to some of Texas's most prominent rap artists. Fields has an arsenal to pull from like no other country artist. But don't let that scare off you, true-blue red-dirt fans; he's a true songwriter, the real deal. 

Holding down the rhythm section is Pakistani-born drummer Zia Basith. Zia, who is a highly sought-after hired-gun by top middle eastern artists coming to tour the U.S, Zia has an arsenal of his own. From the school of John Bonham and Neal Pert, Zia is the absolute truth. 

The other half of the foundation is bassist/fiddle player Bruce Tousinau. Bruce was the former lead guitarist for the hard rock touring act MoxNix. He was so impressed by the Dale Gas demos he decided to jump the shark and hop on the bass to help get the project off the ground. Collectively, this band can go in any musical direction, and it is going to be interesting to watch which one they choose. The Dale Gas Tx band is a modern approach to a classic genre.
